InfraGhillie

InfraGhillie is a versatile poncho designed to reduce the user's NIR (near infrared) and thermal signature.

It works purely passively - without electronics and without the need for power - and creates conditions that reduce the visibility of a person for NIR imaging systems and thermal cameras. The material is silent, water-repellent and windproof, making it suitable for both movement and long-term static observation. The poncho can also be used as a shelter or cover sheet for upper camouflage.

The design is designed so that the poncho can be worn over full gear while maintaining immediate access to the weapon and magazines. The InfraGhillie is stored in a dedicated MOLLE pouch that allows for quick opening and immediate deployment. The system includes leg and neck covers that reduce the signature in transition zones and help unify the overall silhouette.

In practical use, the InfraGhillie reduces thermal contrast and reflectivity in the NIR spectrum. The effectiveness always depends on the environment, weather and movement of the user, but the goal is clearly to reduce detectability and give the operator more time to react. The weight is optimized so that the poncho remains easily portable while providing full coverage of the equipment.
