HelmetScrim is an ultra-lightweight multispectral camouflage cover designed for tactical and ballistic helmets. It helps reduce the thermal, visual and NIR signature of one of the most distinctive parts of the human silhouette – the head and helmet.
The InfraHex material disrupts the regular round shape of the helmet and creates an irregular surface that better integrates with the surrounding terrain. At the same time, it helps reduce the thermal contrast caused by the heat of the human head and the energy that the ballistic, composite or metal parts of the helmet can absorb, store and then radiate.
HelmetScrim works completely passively, without batteries, electronics or the need for activation. The One Size Fits All universal design is designed for use with common tactical and ballistic helmets including mounted accessories such as NVG mounts, battery modules, counterweights, side rails, communication systems, IR markers or cable routing.
In practice, HelmetScrim prevents the helmet from appearing as a clean, round and easily recognizable object in thermal imaging or drone observation. It breaks up the outline of the top of the head, reduces contrast against the background and supports camouflage in the visible, near infrared and thermal spectra.
HelmetScrim is suitable for patrolling, reconnaissance, static observation posts, field movement, sniper and observer work and as a supplement to the InfraGhillie system, especially in situations where its camouflage hood is not used.
HelmetScrim is a camouflage device. It does not provide ballistic or flameproof protection, does not replace certified protective equipment and does not guarantee complete invisibility. Its effectiveness depends on the environment, weather, distance, movement, background, and overall discipline in managing the signature.
